Investment

The line between businesses and individuals was murky.

With all of the cash flowing back from Alaska at the turn of the century, everyone was an investor, and the safest investment was land - so came a boom in real estate related business listings in Seattle. The country was still booming, and even the most far-flung farm could soon be a vacation home or affordable commute. All that was needed was a streetcar line to connect with the city.
